Brewing Iced Coffee At Home- A Delicious Summer Treat

I love coffee, in any of its forms-hot, cold, smoothie, candy... But
what I don't love is paying $3-$4 for a cup of iced coffee. All the
coffeeshops (yes, including the donut franchise) charge way too much
for coffee, especially if they throw in some ice cubes. But brewing
iced coffee at home is quite simple and easy to customize for your own
tastes.

Rinse and clean your coffeemaker, and a big pitcher (8 cup size).

Put enough Ground Coffee into the maker to make 9 cups of coffee
(9 cups x 2 tablespoons a cup= 18 tablespoons of ground coffee). Put in
enough Fresh Water to make 4 cups. When you measure your coffee to be
iced, use this proportion 2x the coffee as water, with an extra serving
of grinds for good measure. Brew the coffee
Fill the pitcher about 1/3 of the way with ice. Dump your freshly
made pot of coffee over the ice. Put the whole pitcher in the
refrigerator.

If you like sugar in your iced coffee, put some in a small
tupperware and pour some plain boiled water to make liquid sugar and
sweeten your iced drink. That saves the trouble of stirring llike crazy.
Serve each cup over ice.


Feel free to make this how you want it- Sweet N Low and Half and Half, Decaf with soy milk and extra sugar....
Cost for a whole pitcher-
$2 worth of the Mermaid Coffee- and theirs is costly
25 cents worth of sugar ( I mean, or just steal some packets from the diner)
$1 worth of milk- I used tons of milk, each iced coffee was 1/2 milk.
water is free, ice is just frozen water, so its free...
----- less than $3 for 8 small iced coffees (more if you take milk). Or
try three 20 ounce iced coffees, with a bit to spare, for $3- each
would cost $3 at the Mermaid, or $2.75 at the Donut.
