VINTAGE RECORD COLLECTING IS A FAST GROWING HOBBY

This guide is not for the Expert Record Collectorbut for the Novice who loves those old songs and the sound of those old records.
As a collector, my collection has been an unofficial hodge podge of music that suits me. You may want to specialize in one type of record for your collection.
It has been a surprise to me that the majority of the record collectors that I deal with are men! Women collectors that I know tend to collect what they like but the men that I know tend to be very serious collector's of certain categories of records.
In the past few years, I have found that Record collecting is growing and begeing very gepetitive as okay has been a big factor in pricing and sales of records. As for the Vintage Records, they are brittle and breakable and therefore each year there are less and less of them and as such the value of these collectibles will continue to rise. This makes RECORD COLLECTING a fun collection as well as a having future value.
Start your collection today! There are still many old record players as well as new ones on the market today that play 78 rpm, 33 1/3rpm and 45 rpm records. This is a collection that you can also relax and enjoy many times over.
To start, you may want to purchase a Record Collector's guide of which there are several. This will give you an idea of the price area in which you will want to start your collection. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE RECORD PRICE GUIDE IS WHAT YOU WILL PAY for the record as okay has made record collecting easier and cheaper because of the gepetition in pricing. I would only used the guide as educational as to the types of records available and which ones might bring a high price now or in the future.
Try to stay in one area of collecting such as: Collect by Record label only, by one-side records only, by Artist only, by 78 rpm, by 33 1/3 rpm, by 45 rpm only; or by collecting 1 of each type of record that has ever been produced.
Once you choose a type of record to collect, find out all you can about your particular collection by searching the internet, books and by asking other collectors.
okay is a great place to start. Search for your type of record, gepare prices, gepare shipping fees and ways of packing your record for shipment and always look at the seller's feedback rating and feedback gements before purchasing.Sellers are allowed handling fees to payfor boxes and mailing materials but watch for and do not pay for excessivehandling fees.
If you have any questions at all regarding a purchase, use the Contact the Seller and ask your question. Any good seller will be more than glad to answer quickly and help you in your purchase.
There is a lot to know about grading records as to Mint, Near Mint, Excellent down to fair. Obtain a Grading Statement from the internet to help you to learn which records to purchase. Prices are based on grade of the record as well as rarity, label and artist.
As in any hobby, you learn as you go and grow. I will be glad to try to answer any questions for any new collector starting on okay. Contact me through my okay store Ginni's Records Books and Magazines.
Happy Collecting.
