(pre-1991) Fisher Price Little People-Safety Issue
Almost everyone that I know of remembers Fisher Price Little People Play Sets. When I was a little girl, we couldn't afford them but every doctor's office seems to have several of the sets. My nieces enjoy the ones that I have managed to collect over the years. In 1991, Fisher-Price changed the design to feature a much wider figure (known as "chunky") due to safety concerns because the size of the original versions are about 1 inch by 2-3 inches tall. PLEASE do not allow small children to play unsupervised with the original smaller Little People. They could easily put them in their mouths and choke. Even if you think that your child may be old enough, it takes very little for a child to forget and absent-mindedly put one in their mouths. (Think of how many times you have accidently put the wrong end of an ink pen or pencil in your own mouth and you will realize how easy it is to do.) These are really great toys but PLEASE with all toys and small children use caution. Thank you.
